Members of the fluorocarbons, family of Plastics made by the polymerization of tetrafluoroethylene. P.T.F.E. is characterized by its extreme inertness to chemicals, very high thermal stability and low frictional properties. Among the applications for these materials are bearings, fuel hoses, Gaskets and tapes, and coatings for metal and fabric.
